Farming Silverleaf in Dun Morogh

Farming Silverleaf in Dun Morogh is a great way to both level your Herbalism skill when its level is still low, as well as gather herbs that can be useful for both Alchemy and Inscription.

Even high level Characters can benefit from farming Silverleaf in Dun Morogh. You see, if you have Inscription as a skill, you will need a steady supply of Moonglow Ink which is made from Alabaster Pigment, which is milled down from low-level herbs such as Silverleaf, Peacebloom and Earthroot.

Minor Inscription Research is on a 20-hour cooldown, which means you will have a need for Moonglow Ink long after your Inscription skill is at 450.

I did a little herbalism run in Dun Morogh a few days ago and in as little as 40 minutes, I managed to gather 52 Silverleaf.

That is pretty good, considering that I also got a whole bunch of Earthroot and Peacebloom.

Silverleaf is always found next to trees, so if you see the dot on your mini-map but don’t see the Silverleaf, just run around the tree… It’s there

As you can plainly see, Silverleaf is pretty much everywhere in Dun Morogh. You can’t really miss it! The only place to avoid is the starting area, where there is absolutely nothing. Besides that you can’t really go wrong!

Low-Level Herbalism in Dun Morogh

Dun Morogh, located just south of Wetlands and well north of Stormwind, is the starting area for both Dwarves and Gnomes.

It is the home of the great dwarven city of Iron Forge, as well as the remnants of Gnomeregan, originally the city of dwarves but now contaminated and beyond use. Gnomeregan is a level 30-something Instance.

Despite its small and shabby appearance – it’s Ok if you like snow – Dun Mororg is a GREAT place for low-level herb farming.

The place is absolutely chock-full of Silverleaf, Peacebloom and Earthroot – especially Silverleaf! I did a little farming run this morning, about 40 minutes, and here is what I gathered:

52 Silverleaf
36 Peacebloom
27 Earthroot

While that may not sound like a lot, bear in mind that I did the farming with Mordauk, who had never been there before, and I was intent on discovering the map so that I could take a nice screenshot.

Farming herbs in Dun Morogh is very efficient!

I only gathered the herbs that were directly in my path, but let me tell you, my scanner saw a LOT MORE that I did not pick up.

It also helped that, excluding Ironforge, there were less than 10 people in the Dun Morogh zone, and I was the only one above level 13.

My Dun Morogh herbalism route was as such: starting at Kharanos, go west, do a full revolution, then go all the way east. Rince and repeat.

There are absolutely no herbs in the low-level area at extreme south-west, however the rest of the Dun Morogh area is sprouting Silverleaf, Peacebloom and Earthroot like its going out of style.

Dun Morogh is a great place for low-level herbalism and herb farming. The monsters are easy to kill, there is not much competition and the herbs are plentiful.
