Farming Goldclover in Zul’Drak

March 30th, 2009 · No Comments

Zul’Drak is not necessarily the best zone in Azeroth to farm Goldclover, but nonetheless, that’s where I went this morning.

First off, in Zul’Drak, you never know what you’re going to get. This is because the herbs in the Western part of the map are all [Frozen Herbs], meaning that they could be Goldclover, Tiger Lily or Talandra’s Rose.

In reality, they turn out to be Goldclover about 70% of the time.

While the concentration of herbs in Zul’Drak is not particularly spectacular, especially in the western half of the map, the fact that there is almost always nobody there more than makes up for it. Since there is no competition, all the spawns are yours, guaranteeing a healthy rate of Goldclover accumulation!

I farmed Goldclover in Zul’Drak for about 30 minutes this morning, and here’s what I got:

  • 52 Goldclover
  • 20 Tiger Lily
  • 14 Talandra’s Rose
  • 1 Crystallized Life

Now bear in mind in only stayed in the Western part of the Zone, and did not farm all those yummy Talandra’s Rose you can see on the left side of the map:

This leads us to a couple of inescapable conclusions. The first one is that Crystallized Life obviously does not resist so well to being frozen. In an equivalent herb run for real, non-frozen herbs, I could have expected to gather 15-20 Crystallized Life. Here, I got one.

The second one is that Frozen Herbs are not more conducive to gathering Deadnettle than they are for Crystallized Life.

I know, of course, that farming Deadneattle is always a crap shoot, but I would figure that for over 80 herbs collected, as was the case this morning, I would have gathered at least a few Deadnettle. Instead, i got none.

All in all, Western Zul’Drak is not the best for farming Goldclover, but it is far from the worse, as the lack of farming competition more than makes up for the relatively low number of herb spawn nodes.
