This morning, I though I would revisit an old favorite. I started playing with a Human, and Stranglethorn Vale was the first area I saw that was really different than what I had visited so far. Very cool.

Jungle, Cats, Gorillas and sweaty Trolls, what a treat!

But this morning my focus was different. I went Herb gathering in Stranglethorn Vale. As you can see from this Stranglethorn Vale Herbalism Map, herbs are everywhere:

I don’t really have a route to recommend for this, because of the herb concentration. I would start at the top at the Rebel Camp flight Point, then alternatively criss-cross the eastern and western sides of the zone.

My herbalism run this morning was very short, only 30 minutes. Yet in that short span of time, I managed to gather the following:

• 21 Khadgar’s Whisker
• 18 Goldthorn
• 11 Kingsblood
• 8 Wild Steelbloom
• 7 Purple Lotus
• 6 Liferoot
• 2 Fadeleaf

As you can see, the variety of herbs in Stranglethorn Vale is quite impressive. If you spend a few minutes looking at the map above – click to enlarge – you will see in what areas herbs are concentrated.

For example, Wild Steelbloom is at the northwest, while Liferoot is next to water – as always. This will allow you to concentrate your efforts in a certain area to maximize your results for a certain type of Herb.

Incidentally, if you are in Stranglethorn Vale at 3, 6 9 or 12, Short John Mithril will drop some loot on the Gurubashi Arena floor. If you’re lucky or high level enough, there will either be no one there to challenge your ‘Arena Mastery’, or you’ll be able to beat them into submission and grab the loot.

It’ll give you an extra Achievement as well as an extra quest, for those of you out there looking for that ‘Seeker’ title!
