Herbalism: Silverleaf

March 24th, 2009 · No Comments

Silverleaf is a low level herb that can be obtained in all racial starting areas, using the Herbalism skill. It is used primarily by practitioners of the Alchemy and Inscription skills, but may also have other uses.

Alchemy. In Alchemy, Silverleaf is used in the following recipes:

These are not very powerful potions, but they are the backbone of any successful Alchemist’s career. Since it is common that low-level potions and Elixirs are used to create higher-level ones, farming Silverleaf is something that you may find yourself doing, even at higher levels!

Inscription. If you have the Inscription profession, you will find that along with Earthroot and Peacebloom, Silverleaf can be milled down to [Alabaster Pigment].

[Alabaster Pigment] is used in the crafting of the following Inks:

Because Moonglow Ink is the primary ingredient for Minor Inscription Research, an Inscription ability on a 20-hour cooldown, you will find yourself farming Silverleaf even at very high levels.

Where can I farm Silverleaf?

Silverleaf can be farmed in great quantities in all racial starting areas, as well as in affiliated adjacent zones, such as The Barrens for Orcs and Trolls.

Silverleaf seems to enjoy the shade, and will always be found next to trees, fences, houses or anything else that produces shade.

Best Alliance Silverleaf Farming Zones:

  • Elwynn Forest
  • Dun Morogh
  • Teldrassil
  • Azuremyst Isle

Best Horde Silverleaf Farming Zones:

  • Durotar
  • Mulgore
  • Tirisfal Glades
  • Eversong Woods

In addition to being susceptible to farming, Silverleaf can also be found in various chests and as drops from plant mobs, all in low-level areas.

Silverleaf will stop leveling your Herbalism skill completely at around skill level 100. The herb Silverleaf can also be bough, occasionally, from various vendors as a limited-supply item.
