Ahah. Just kidding. Of course I want you to read it. To most veteran World of Warcraft players, this will not be news. But if you’ve never heard of it, you will be singing my name in praise for as long as you play World of Warcraft.
I suspect - although I do not know - that many guides that you can buy recommend this, or maybe even bundle it. It is free, after all. It’s called the Auctioneer Add-On, and you can get it here. It will also at some point be linked in the “Add-On” section I plan on putting up eventually.
Basically, what this does is gives you a pretty detailed Auction House history of any item you find in-game. How many times the scanner saw it at auction, last price sold, pricing recommendations, and much more. I don’t remember what I did before I had it, but I know I was poor.
The downside of this add-on is that it is not preloaded with an item history (which would be impossible, since all servers are different). You basically have to spend some time at the auction house “scanning”, and I would not trust the recommendations before a week of daily scans. Depending on the volume of items, a scan can take from 5 to 20 minutes.
Maybe a good opportunity to eat, or maybe shower, hmmm?
The bottom line is, once you have this add-on “trained”, you can sell pretty much anything that is not Grey on the AH, for at least twice as much money as you would have gotten from the vendor - sometimes MUCH more.
So go get it, install it, and sing my name in praise as you amass enough gold for your epic mount by level 40.
