I have now managed to raise my Herbalism skill on my new Death Knight, Mordauk, to 320. It was, as expected, pretty easy but did take quite a bit of time.

Thankfully, I have the Gatherer Add-On – see the Add-On category for link – to help me on my Quest.

I raised my skill to the level it is without once visiting Outlands, except of course to get the skill upgrade once I was at 300.

The areas I visited most were Hillsbrad Foothills, mostly for Bruiseweed and Liferoot, and once I got to 235 (I think) I went over to Swamp of Sorrows for its abundance of Blindweed.

In about an hour of early-morning farming in Swamp of Sorrows, you can gather over 60 Blindweeds, as well as a plethora of other herbs – Fadeleaf, Goldthorn, Liferoot and more.

If you are planning on leveling Inscription as a primary crafting profession, I very seriously encourage you to spend a LOT of time in Swamp of Sorrows. Blindweed mills down to “Celestial Ink”, with an intermediary step as some pigment, and you will need A LOT of it. You only learn the next step in Inks at level 250, so the quantity of Blindweed required to make your way there is impressive to say the least – some would say “crushing”.

Tomorrow morning I will post an article on where to go after Swamp of Sorrows – I feel like I’ve been spending a lot of time there, and I’ll be happy to move on.
