The [Mindthrust Bracers]

April 1st, 2008 · No Comments

A little while back I ran Shadowfang Keep with Mandorall — see previous article — and I received a Blue Bind-on-Equip item, which as you well know are rare enough.

The item in questions were the [Mindthrust Bracers] and if you’ll recall, I expressed doubt as to their value, since they have a -5 Stamina debuff. The bracers are supposedly good for mages, warlocks or maybe priests, but a -5 to Stamina starting as early as level 17 seems incredibly horrible. Certainly the +9 to Intellect does not compensate, and the 17 Armor is, well, insignificant.

But being true to myself, I put it up on the Auction House for — according to Allakhazam — the heavily discounted price of 30g. Quite frankly after reading the negative reviews on this item I would have been happy with making up the deposit on the sale. But that’s neither here not there.

The [Mindthrust Bracers] sold, pretty quickly I might add, for the Buy-Now price, transforming my very average Shadowfang Keep run into a profitable endeavor.

This only goes to prove that not matter the stats, low-level blues will always command a premium. So don’t do like me, and always overprice those supposedly “twink” items!
