World of Warcraft Add-Ons

Many people with undoubted programming skills write all sorts of little programs called “Add-Ons”. The idea behind thse add-ons is to make your experience in World of Warcraft more customizable, and supposedly more rewarding. These add-ons will do anything from completely redesigning your interface to simply letting you know at a glance how much space you have in your bags.

Most of the Add-Ons are of dubious use at best, and let me assure you, you can play the game, and beat the game and have great fun without ever installing a single one of them.

That being said, I will share with you the add-ons I use. So this is not just a large collection of links from all over the web, they are the ones I use to enhance my playing experience. So use at your own risks.

The Best: Auctioneer Add-On

Big Pile Of WoW GoldI found Auctioneer Add-On through a World of Warcraft mailing list I had subscribed to at some point. Most of the info was junk, but this…. Oh my.

Auctioneer Add-On scans your faction Auction House (as well as the Neutral one, if you’re in Booty Bay or Ratchet or what not) and builds a pricing history for all in-game items. It also provides with information regarding how much an item is worth to a vendor, what an ingredient is used for - is an Aquamarine only useful for Jewelcrafters, or will Blacksmiths also yearn for them? - all useful information while you’re playing.

Auctioneer Add-On will require you to “scan” your auction house several times as it builds an auction history, but it takes no more than 25-30 minutes depending on your server and faction.

Get Auctioneer Add-On here. It’s free, you’ll thank me for it. Just like I’m thanking the one who made me discover it. Whatever his name is.

Oh sir! I did download the “advanced” auctioneer, found it clunky…switched to classic but found I like the “advanced” better. The “scanning” option is a really nice feature which the classic dosent have. And yes, you have to rescan if you uninstall : ( …..But as Grunman can contest too, my character Chianna seems to be always broke and the auctioneer is for sure a bonus for us that seem to have a hole in our pocket!
