Renei’s No-Fail “Chicken” Pasta

  • 1lb Spaghetti or Linguine or something long
  • 5 cloves garlic
  • Olive oil
  • 1 tsp chili flakes
  • 2-3 tsp Chicken stock powder (Knorr, whatever)
  • 1/2 tsp Dried Thyme
  • A few drops Worcestershire sauce
  • Some lemon zest
  • A dash (or two) of curcuma powder
  • Grated Parmesan
  • Curry Powder (optional)

You should be able to cook pasta. So you go ahead and do that. While its cooking, peel and mince the garlic. You can also use a garlic crusher, but I don’t since I like chunks.  Remember to take out the core of the garlic clove, especially if its starting to turn green, because its bitter and you’re not supposed to eat it.

Once the pasta is ready, drain it and reserve. In the pot where it cooked - make sure there’s no water left - put some olive oil. Not to much. Put over medium heat and fry the garlic and the chili flakes for a minute or two. Take off the heat, add the pasta back in and stir. Pour in some more olive oil. Then add all the other ingredients, stir very well, and serve immediately. You can dump some grated Parmesan on your plate, it tastes great.

Of course, feel free to adjust the quantities to suit your taste.  I like to put some curry powder on my pasta before the parmesan, but I don’t put it in the pot. Not everyone likes it, and if you put just a little too much the curry is likely to cover everything else.

So enjoy, and remember that you can play World of Warcraft while you eat, or watch a YouTube video about World of Warcraft, or go to WoWwiki and investigate World of Warcraft factions and rewards!

YUMMY!! It was funny that you posted that recipe because this weekend I learned a very similiar recipe ( you know my disdain for cooking Renei) and I was very satisified with my results….the only difference was that it was made with shrimp. A very quick, easy, yummy for the tummy dish! I was also told that frying the garlic before hand really brings out the flavor versus just cooking it the regular way ( but I’m not what the regular is!! LOL ) I look forward to more ……….

Ok, I tried the recipe ( with shrimp ) but everything else was the same ( my bff recipe just didnt have the worchester sauce )….well ….it was edible….but not like what she did ( and I’m sure Grun’s)….hint, garlic BURNS! DONT WALK AWAY FOR A SECOND! I think I recalled that I can screw up hamburger helper….. but the actually process was fast and easy and I’m sure it would have been really wonderful if I hadnt burned a said item…but Alas! I will muster on and try it again!
